RACE DAY ONLY:

VERY IMPORTANT: There is no additional packet pick-up dates/times and packets will NOT be mailed to you. Each individual participant MUST pick up his or her own packet on race day. You will not be allowed to pick up packets for other participants. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please be sure to bring a valid photo ID with you to obtain your packet.

If you have registered for the 5k ONLY, your packet will include:
• (1) 5k Bib & Timing Chip
• (1) 5k T-shirt
• (1) 5k Finisher Medal – Medals will be received upon crossing the finish line.

If you have registered for the 9.3 CHALLENGE, your packet will include:
• (1) 9.3 Challenge Bib & Timing Chip
• (1) Hooded Sweatshirt
• (1) 5k Finishers Medal
• (1) 10k Finishers Medal
• (1) 9.3 Challenge Finishers Medal – Medals will be received upon crossing the finish line for each individual race. 9.3 Challenge medal will be given after completing the 10k.

EVENTS

5K

If you are participating in the 5k ONLY, your race begins at 5PM. After finishing your 5k race, you will receive your 5k medal at the Finish Line.

9.3 CHALLENGE

If you are participating in the 9.3 Challenge, your race begins with the 5k at 5PM. Depending on your pace and when you finish; you will then prepare for the 10k to begin at 6:30PM. After finishing the 10k race and thus completing your 9.3 Mile Challenge, you will receive your 10k medal and Challenge medal at the Finish Line.

NYR x BASECAMP FITNESS CHALLENGE WORKOUT

Take your fitness goals to new heights with a post run-HIIT workout brought to you exclusively by Basecamp Fitness. After finishing the 5k race, hit the park in beast mode and join fellow runners in a high intensity workout lead by basecamp fitness trainers. To participate in the Basecamp Challenge, visit the Basecamp booth located inside the park on race night. Space is limited and on first come-first served basis. One session per person.

PARKING

The following parking lots will be open for participant and spectator self-parking:

Parking fee is $9.00. Both cash/credit will be accepted.

NOTE: ROAD CLOSURES for the race begin at 3PM. Please plan accordingly and allow yourself enough time to find parking and get to the start line.

FESTIVAL & BEER GARDEN

The New Year’s Race will host a festival in Grand Park on race day. The festival will include vendor and sponsor booths, music, food trucks and a beer garden! Each registered New Year’s Race participant 21 years and older, can redeem their two (2) free beer tickets inside the beer garden on race day. The beer tickets will be attached to your bib. Free Beer tickets will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

GEAR CHECK

Gear check will be provided for this race. Gear Check will be located inside the festival area in Grand Park. You will be allowed to bring your own bag to check in. All bags should NOT be bigger than standard back pack size. New Year’s Race is not responsible for theft or damage to any personal belongings left unattended and outside of the gear check area.

LEGACY RUNNERS

If you are a Legacy Runner*, you can pick up your additional Legacy medal from the Legacy booth located inside the festival. Legacy medals will be available for distribution beginning at 5:30pm.

If you are a Legacy Runner, your bib will be labeled as such. If you are unsure whether or not you are a Legacy Runner, you can check your status HERE.

*A Legacy Runner indicates that you have consecutively ran and participated in the New Year’s Race since its’ inaugural year in 2013.

RESULTS & AWARDS

Will be posted on the race website within 24 hours. Overall awards will be awarded to the top 3 male and female for both the 5k and 9.3 Challenge. NOage division awards will be given. Winners will be announced at the main stage inside the festival area at the following times: 6:15PM – 5k Awards, 7PM – 9.3 Challenge Awards.

VIRTUAL RUN

If you registered for the virtual run, either the 9.3 Challenge or 5k, your packet will be mailed to you. You do not have to show proof of completing your virtual run as payment for your run is proof that you have/will complete your 9.3 Challenge or 5k race.

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS

As a reminder and per standard race policy, all entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred to another year. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, illness, pregnancy, have moved, etc. If you cannot attend the event for any reason, hoodies, shirts and medals will NOTbe mailed after the race. There will be no exceptions made to this policy. We apologize for any inconvenience.
